Sergeant Gillespie was a trooper in Mobile Infantry and member and Radio Operator of Roughnecks 2-0 during the First Bug War.
History[]
At some point Gillespie joined Roughnecks 2-0, and became their radio operator. The squad was sent to Planet P to investigate a distress call from Whiskey Outpost. While on their way to the outpost, he was trying to contact it, and Rasczak ordered him to get to a higher position in hopes to get the signal through. Gillespie obeyed the order, which proved to be his undoing as a Hopper swooped down and impaled him with its claws. It dropped him on a nearby cliff and began torturing him. Rasczak borrowed "Sugar" Watkins' Scoped Morita, and used it to shoot Gillespie in the heart in order to save him from further pain. Rasczak did not regret his decision, returned the rifle back to Watkins, replaced Gillespie with Johnny as sergeant and they continued their way to Whiskey Outpost.
